One riddle would likely need explanation for a five year old to understand it as the punchline uses the expression "over the moon". A second riddle I found in poor taste for us as my grandson's mom has a pet cockatiel that is my five-year-old grandson's friend, but I just tore that page out of the book. "What do you call an electric parrot?" The answer shows a cockatoo plugged into an electric socket being shocked (to me it looks more like an electrocution than just a shock) and the answer is "shockatoo". Other than that the jokes are accessible and humorous for the five year old crowd.
My students loved these jokes! They can't read well enough to read all the words, but they could definitely read SOME, and that made them proud. They then proceeded to memorize it, which is an important step to learning to read! Thank you. :D
Delivered quickly, cute jokes. Bought it for my five year old and he thinks they are funny jokes. They have pictures on each page which makes it more fun for the young kids. I liked it for the price, so did my son. I would recommend.
My son is 5 years old and enjoys making up jokes. Very bad jokes. :) We decided to get him this joke book to teach him some good jokes that he can share with family and friends. There are 15 different jokes in the book and they are geared towards young children/students. My son loves the jokes in the book and laughs every time we read it.I would recommend this book to anyone with young children.
We got this for our 6 year old because he was into telling jokes. He loved this book. It's one of the better joke books on Amazon (we've tried many of them). The pages are bright and colorful, the jokes are relevant and understandable.
I visited my nieces this summer and was delighted that they were really starting to get into telling jokes. Many of the joke books I perused online were for older children (9+) and had complicated punchlines, but this book was pitch-perfect for my nieces' current skillset (pre-school through 1st grade). Not only did my nieces enjoy the gorgeous, bright illustrations, but my younger niece just LOVED memorizing the jokes and "reading" them to me, paging through the book on her own. This joke book is such a winner! My elder niece (going into 1st grade) could sound out or already knew all of the vocabulary. I'd heartily recommend this book for the 3-7 year-old in your life, for many fun readings and times shared laughing. :)
this is a perfect book for 3-6 year olds. the jokes aren't too complicated, so the kids actually understand the jokes. It's also a good book for them to start reading with. although I am tired of knock-knock jokes from the kids..
I got this for my 6 year old daughter because she recently got into telling jokes. She's a great reader, but getting her to pick up a book to read takes a little more effort. But with this joke book, she finished reading it within a day and had all the jokes memorized. She really, really loved it. She started telling everyone all the jokes and it put a huge smile on not only their face, but hers too! She even asked if I could buy her another joke book.
