I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary billionaire romance with unforgettable characters and a beautifully written story that kept me glued to the book from start to finish, reading well into the middle of the night. I felt an instant connection with tenacious, independent software developer, Lizzie Beckett, who pitches her dating app to a panel of tech billionaires on the national television show "Tech Tank", hoping to find the perfect financier to boost her business. She is also training a black Goldendoodle, Austen, to become a diabetic alert service dog. I loved her dynamic and undeniable chemistry with arrogant, pretentious, and critical Dawson Fitzwilliam who agrees to give her app Capture My Heart a thirty-day trial period. This is a must-read for fans of this genre and I look forward to reading more from this talented author. I received an advance reader copy of Her App, A Match, and the Billionaire and this is my voluntary and unbiased review. I liked the book so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.
First of all, I loved the clever ways that names from Jane Austen made an appearance, especially as the story followed a modern Pride and Prejudice pattern. Secondly, my daughter has been begging for a golden doodle (dog) and I loved the role that Austen played in this charming, sweet romance.Lizzie has developed a new dating app and needs the financial backing to make it fly. Her pitch to billionaire, Dawson, landed her a trial run for a month, which was more than she dared to hope for. I loved the descriptions of the app and the way it worked, especially on a more personal level for both of them.Dawson, although very wealthy, was a very private person, which really came through in the story. It was hard to get to know him and happened very gradually, just a it would with a person like him in real life. That was a brilliant move, involving the reader in a new dimension. Lizzie is vivacious and sweet, with a very persistent streak and was beloved by all from the start. Of course, Austen, the dog, completely captured my heart. I was fascinated by the training that went into helping Austen become a diabetes service dog.The story has the perfect amount of pacing, with some parts slower and some parts moving fast. I loved the secondary characters and their roles to developing the story, but I loved the slow blooming romance the most.Content: mild romance*I received a complimentary copy. All opinions expressed are my own and were voluntarily given. No review was required.*
Lizzie Beckett has a matchmaking app that she's pitching to the tech billionaires on Tech Tank, a show similar to Shark Tank, where the billionaires can invest in technology. Lizzie needs help in marketing her app and hopefully getting more funding. She really wants one investor, Dawson Fitzwilliam, to invest. Since he's single, she thinks she can find his match and really launch her app.Dawson is skeptical of the app but is willing to give it 30 days. One thing that doesn't help is that he doesn't want a lot of his personal information given out, but Lizzie does give him a couple dates that really look good. As time goes by, they both begin to have feelings for each other. Dawson decides that he only wants to date Lizzie and tries to figure out how and still keep her and her app going.Lizzie also is training a diabetic alert dog, Austen, and takes him with her everywhere to train him. Dawson isn't fond of dogs but accepts him. When Austen goes to Dawson, Lizzie thinks her training isn't being effective. Will Austen be able to help Dawson with his undiagnosed medical condition, too before it's too late?I liked this story and the research that Maria must have done it to get so many details in it.I received an advanced copy of the book and am leaving my honest review voluntarily.
So far, I have learned how billionaires interact with each other. How tv shows are taped. How dating apps work, in general. All about this dating app, in particular. Service dogs. How they are trained. Diabetes. Seattle. How people in Seattle prefer to eat their hot dogs...And that’s not to mention the miles and miles of endless, needless narratives I skimmed over, rather than wading through.I am now at the 33% point, and have no further interest in being educated about the town, the app, the personalities, the dog, or any of the rest of it.I’ll just move quietly on, in search of that romance I was looking for.
Super cute Billionaire themed romance. I liked this one because of the Tech Tank angle. Lizzie Beckett is trying to find an investor for her dating app, so she gets on the show to hopefully win over one of the investors. When her service dog acts up and one of the Billionaires loses his cool with it, he has to save face. So he grants her a 30 day period with his company to see if he wants to invest in it or not. But Dawson isn’t really interested in it. But as he and Lizzie start working together, she thaws a piece of his icy heart and things start changing. He starts being interested in her (Surprise! Ha ha. JK. It is a romance) This story is set in Seattle. I loved the outdoor and city scenes, they were very realistic and made me feel like I was there. And the characters worked their way into my heart. It was a fun journey with them. Easy book to read that pulled me along. No boring parts. Just clean, juicy fun. Oh, and I forgot. The diabetic alert service dog in this book is awesome. I loved him.
I enjoyed reading this book. I am a fan of pride and prejudice so I enjoyed that this story was a modern day version. I live in the Seattle area so this book was even more fun because I could relate. I liked Lizzie’s spunk. The service dog aspect was fun and interesting. I liked reading Dawson’s point of view. Overall a great story.
